Iridium Faxable Order Page IN ADOBE ACROBAT FORMAT Inmarsat BGAN: Voice and Broadband Data  The Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) was launched in December 2005. It is the newest and most powerful Inmarsat service providing data speeds up to 492 kbps and simultaneous voice and data calling capability. BGAN offers on-demand guaranteed data rate "streaming IP" services up to 256 kbps, as well as 64 kbps ISDN circuit-switched data for backwards compatibility with older GAN applications. Prepaid and postpaid service is available, with a variety of "budget-control" features. Our Light Usage plan offers $0.99/minute basic rate voice services worldwide. The land portable terminals needed to support BGAN are unprecedented in their small size and weight. Three classes of BGAN terminal are currently available, weighing as little as 2.2 lbs. An older variant of the BGAN service called RBGAN offers extremely low terminal cost if 144 kpbs data-only shared-bandwidth service is adequate. Inmarsat BGAN services cover a large percentage of earth's land masses and certain ocean regions (see coverage map).  Nera Inmarsat Terminals The Nera World Communicator Inmarsat M4 terminal provide a portable satellite terminal with 64 kbps ISDN capability. The Nera World Communicator gives you ISDN functionality via satellite with coverage in most of the world. Low cost Mini-M voice, high quality 3.1 khz audio and 64 kbps data are supported. Two terminals can be multiplexed to produce 128,000 bps data rate or for use with specialized equipment such as VideoPhones. Nera also produces an Inmarsat Mini-M Land Portable terminal (specs below), Mini-M and high speed data F77 Marine terminals terminals, and Inmarsat-B. The GSP-1600 is a favorite of hikers and hunters visiting remote locations that need to carry a method of calling the outside world. During the Hurricane Katrina disaster when terrestrial communications were down, Globalstar played a dominant role in helping emergency responders communicate. Globalstar offers excellent sound quality and a 9600 bps data rate. The satellite mode covers over 100 countries in a large region covering much of northern, central and western Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. Internationally roaming GSM cellular coverage capability is also available (see GSM coverage list). Options include a hands-free kit, Car Kit, Fixed Docking Unit with external antenna, secure voice/data encryption equipment, and a hardcased Thuraya car kit with a built-in analog fax machine.
